Secretary
Functions: Appointed
by the Board, at the proposal of the President, to whom he is directly
accountable. He attends Board’s meetings but acting solely in an
advisory capacity. Also, he launches calls for proposals, writes
up minutes and is responsible to carry out the agreements. He deals
with issues related to the Body’s internal procedures and other tasks
upon the Chairman’s request.

Technical
ServicesFunctions: The
Board is a certification body whose Technical Service is liable to
guarantee and enforce compliance with the Appellation of Origin’s
Regulation, not only during the growing stage but also at ageing,
winemaking and backlabelling. Origin and health conditions of grapes
entering the registered wineries are under a thorough control during
harvesting. The control takes place at both, wineries and production
areas. Furthermore, the advising provided to vine growers is quite
important as they have the chance to learn about crop certification,
vineyard inspection etc.
