Upon the rating committee process and in view of the results, the Control Board of Rueda A.O. rated “very good” the 2006 Vintage.

The white wines of the 2006 vintage that are currently being marketed present a medium aromatic intensity with 13 to 13.5 alcohol content, with great structured and quality mouth, which leads to well balanced and structured sensations and vegetable aromas which in some cases intermingle with green fruit aromas. This aroma content, along with a voluminous mouth, is the typical characteristic when the Verdejo variety participates in the production of one of our region’s wine.

These qualities are being appreciated by the professionals of the International and National market now that the Control Board of Rueda A.O. is carrying out a series of presentations of their white wine this year (2007).

Within the National market, Rueda A.O. has focused on the Levante region. On April 2nd and 3rd, the wines produced from 2006 harvest by 25 different wineries within Rueda A.O. were presented in Valencia and Castellón, respectively, having a very good reception from the professional public. Soon they will be presented in Murcia, on June 18th, and in Almeria on June 19th.

Rueda A.O. wines have been tasted abroad in places such as Prowein, Germany; London Fair, London; in Miami, where the gastronomic week occurred, and professional wine tasting in Denmark (exposition of wines in Copenhagen), in Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro) and soon to be tasted in Bordeaux, Norway, Finland and Holland.
