The annually published “The Best of Wine in Ireland 2008” has rated Tamoya as the best value white wine in Ireland.
This publication, also known as “Wine Bible in Ireland”, is deemed among the sector stakeholders, as an essential guide. Furthermore, it is edited by John Wilson, who is referred as a leading wine guru in Ireland. Besides the best seven hundred wines in the country are featured in this guide.
“The Best of Wine in Ireland 2008” highlights “the quality of Spanish white wines in general and the crispy and good flavour of some wines such as Rueda, a wine of good balance and personality”. This comes to prove the expertise of wineries in terms of wine making.
As for the marketing of Rueda A. O. wines on international markets, it underlines its positive evolution, as nowadays exports account for about 20% of total sales. What is more, this figure is increasingly growing every year as these markets are great options for the Appellation continue growth.
Additionally, this growth is being reflected in the domestic market. In fact, we have seen an increase of 8.94% compared with last year’s same period, i.e., a total of 31,150,414 backlabels of wine as of 1st November, 2007.
Indeed, innovation is also included in the daily agenda of Rueda A.O. wineries. For instance, Wineries such as Bodega Vidal Soblechero (La Seca), Ossian Vides and Vinos de Nieva (Segovia) have produced in this Appellation the first ice wine of Spain.
