Upon the extraordinary meeting held by all members of the Board and pursuant to Section 29.1 of Act 8/2005 (from June 10th) of Castilla y León Vines and Wines and to the Rueda A.O. Regulation itself, the Control Board appointed a new Chairman who will hold office until the new elections take place (scheduled in 2012).

The Control Board has appointed a new Chairman during the plenary session held yesterday, March the 3rd. Francisco Javier de Iscar Martínez, a member of the Board and vine grower, representing ASAJA in this Appellation of Origin after last elections held in 2007, was elected.

Francisco Javier de Iscar Martínez, 50 years old, was born in Serrada (Valladolid) and, as a vine grower, belongs to Rueda Appellation of Origin ever since the latter gained recognition, back in 1980. During the last terms of office he was involved in the Control Board as a member. Currently, at the time of election, he belonged to Level 2 of the Producing Sector, and was included in ASAJA-Rueda Vine Growers Association candidacy. He is the Chairman in Office since last December, when José Mª Vegas submitted his resignation.

As the result of these changes, Juan de Benito Ozores was appointed Vice-chairman of the Control Board in the course of the same meeting. His predecessor in the post was the new proposed Chairman.

In addition, Francisco Hurtado de Amézaga y Dolagaray (Bodegas de los Herederos del Marques de Riscal SA) is now a member of the Control Board, in representation of ASEBRU, which is in Level 2 of the Making Sector. He has broad experience in the sector and was a member of the Rueda A.O. Control Board during previous terms of office.

The Control Board will report the appointment of the new Chairman to the Agriculture and Livestock Ministry of Castilla y León Government in order to be official and be published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León.
